In January 2020 Tanis Smither featured Boy One in Hotpress, Ireland’s leading music magazine featured the release of the single and video for ‘Broken Skies’.

The song is dedicated to Greta Thunberg (Swedish environmental activist), “and every other school child who is facing an uncertain future.” I approached David Attenborough for some of his footage on climate change, but the BBC owns all the material, so with the help of filmmaker John Fisher, we compiled this footage.
The instrumental on ‘Broken Skies’ is ironically sunny, while the lyrics are dark and looming. “What can we do, is it too late for your rescue? Say it isn’t true, we could save you if we wanted to. We can’t afford to lose, when tomorrow comes we’ll stand accused,” sung over driving rock guitar.
